When I was 3 years old I was mesmerized by my Grandmother's jewelry; those large brooches sparkled with different colors and intriguing shapes... every time I would visit I wanted to go through her jewelry box, even though I had seen the same pieces a hundred times, each time I could see something different and unique. Many years later I took a Gemology class and found it intriguing, all the elements and chemical makeup of gemstones was truly the work of mother nature at her best. In 2013 I began watching Gem programs and devouring every book I could find about gemstones and jewelry... the more I learned, my fascination about this 'sparkling' world grew. Then in 2014 I took a ring making course at a local Jewelry Academy... it was so natural making that first ring... and it was at that point I realized that my strong passion for Gemology and jewelry was going to take flight. Then in 2015 I signed up for school with the GIA {Gemological Institute of America} to become a Graduate Gemologist.
Novak Gems and Jewelry pays homage to my grandparents, Velma and Edmund Novak. From birth, they were instrumental in my upbringing and cherished parental figures throughout my life until they passed. It was after this decision that I decided to incorporate Novak into my full name.
I hope you enjoy my shop, perusing the interesting gems and stunning jewelry that you most likely won't see in any other place.
Love and Peace,
Robert Strouf Novak, GIA AJP
